MadMax3 is a logical step forward: combining the strengths of the best hubs. Without their drawbacks.

Since 2011, JP Racing Bike — the company behind DUKE — has designed, built and serviced thousands of high-end wheels. This real-world experience, across all terrains and use cases, has made one thing clear: what works, what fails, and what needs to evolve.

MadMax3 replaces both MadMax and BadBoy with a lighter, simpler and more refined platform.

Weight savings are significant (up to -45 g), with no compromise on stiffness. The conical ratchet system improves power transfer while reducing wear, and tighter bearing tolerances minimize friction for improved overall efficiency.

The ride feel is sharp, direct and consistent. Engagement — 36 or 60 points depending on the standard — remains precise over time, without degradation.

The hub has also been designed with wheel building and maintenance in mind: tool-free disassembly, simplified freehub assembly, and an optimized geometry to balance spoke tension and ensure long-term reliability.

MadMax3 features three dedicated spoke interfaces, each tailored to a specific use:
• SP (Straight Pull Ø2.5 mm) — standard straight-pull spokes
• T365 (T-Head Ø3.65 mm) — optimized for Sapim CX-Carbon 365 (road)
• R55 (Round Head Ø5.5 mm) — optimized notably for Sapim RC-1 (launch planned late June)

This approach allows precise matching of the hub to each wheel project, without technical compromise.

In terms of standards, compatibility is complete: XD, XDR, HG11 and Microspline are supplied as standard, with HG10 / Campagnolo / N3W available as options. Disc mounting is Center Lock, with optional IS (6-bolt) compatibility.
