100 SAPIM MG WASHERS

The MS washer is the new washer designed by Sapim. The MG washer is CNC machined and not pressed like the MS. It is also 2 mm higher and its V shape ensures a perfect match with many nut shapes. This washer works with machine lacing, and is perfect for hand assembly as well.

The advantages of the MG washer are multiple.

Carbon rims: The stainless steel quality of the washer almost completely eliminates the risk of corrosion between the contact points of the carbon rim and the aluminum nut.

Thin-walled rims: The washer increases the contact area considerably. The strength around the nut increases by about 30%. Broken nut holes will be a problem of the past.

Low Friction: There is a reduction in friction when used with a Polyax R3 head due to the adapted surface shape between the nut and the washer, resulting in easier control of high tensions. Higher tension can also be achieved without damaging the nut. The use of grease is strongly recommended.

Unsurpassed spoke/nut line: The contact surface of the nipples is adapted to the shape of the washers and facilitates alignment, the nut works like a ball joint. The result is a perfect alignment of the spokes and nipples. The washer can move on the rim base, which will bring the nut to a better centering in the rim.

When using the MG washer, the spoke length should be extended by 2 mm. Make sure the washer will sit flat in the bottom of the rim. If the rim bottom is round or very narrow (less than 7.5 mm flat), we recommend using our HM washer instead of the MS.
